IT WONT PLAY ONE PLAYER

What a joke, i am one player, i have one keyboard, one mouse and one screen and I wanted to play it with one character, it will not let me do this. DO NOT BUY this game its a joke, even atari let you choose one or two player, this is such a basic option that should be included.
I HATE IT, I want my money back.
